Custom pin artwork, attachments, and packaging

Start with your artwork.

A vector PDF is a useful starting point for reviewing an enamel or metal design.  A clear image or sketch also helps explain the idea.

• Attach your artwork to the email before sending your estimate request.
• Include a file-sharing link if you prefer to send artwork that way.
• Include exact wording and brand color references.
• Identify anything that can be simplified if space is limited.

Give it room to read.

Include the finished width or height in inches.  Small lettering and fine details should be reviewed at the intended size.

• State whether your measurement is width or height.
• Indicate a standard shape or custom outline.
• List separate sizes if you want alternatives quoted.

Define the metal and color.

Your estimate can include finish choices that suit the selected production method.

• Request a gold-tone, silver-tone, black nickel, or antique appearance.
• For enamel, identify the intended solid colors.
• For gradients or photographic detail, ask about printed options.

Specify how it will be worn.

State a preferred attachment or describe where the pin will be used.  Available options depend on the design.

• Butterfly or rubber clutch
• Locking clutch or double post
• Threaded post with screw back
• Other backing requirements for your project

Think about the presentation.

Include the way each pin should be packaged, especially for awards, merchandise, or events.

• Individual bags
• Printed backing cards
• Pouches or presentation boxes
• Separate packaging instructions for each version
